What is NOM certification?
NOM mandatory products are generally electrical and electronic products with ac or dc voltage exceeding 24V. Mainly suitable for product safety, energy and thermal effects, installation, health and agriculture.
The following products must be NOM certified to be allowed to enter the Mexican market:

The following products must be NOM certified to be allowed to enter the Mexican market:
1. Electronic or electrical products for use in homes, offices and factories;
2. Computer LAN equipment;
3. Lighting device;
4. Tires, toys and school supplies;
5. Medical equipment;
6. wired and wireless communication products, such as wired telephone, wireless telephone, etc.;
7. Products powered by electricity, propane, natural gas or batteries.
How to apply for NOM certification?
1. Directly contact AMb testing institutions to provide services;
2. Provide at least 2 samples to local testing institutions in Mexico that AMB directly cooperates with for testing;
3. Provide product information (Labels in Spanish, specifications in Spanish, technical documents (circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, parts list), registration documents of local importers or distributors, etc.);
4. Certificate issued after passing the test;
5. The manufacturer or exporter may mark the product with a NOM mark.
Attention
1. Mexico voltage is 127VAC/60Hz.
2. The plug is the same as the American plug. One is ClassI with three headers and the other is ClassII with two. The plug will be tested with the device itself.
3. The validity period of the certificate is one year. The certificate can be renewed every year.
4. The product packaging shall contain the following information: name and address of the importer or distributor, NOM logo, domestic origin information, product input/output ratings, product name and model, product name and model, package quantity.
